Fundraising Can Make A Difference!

The success of the efforts of the Teays Valley Athletic Booster Club depends on the support of TVLSD families, the northern Pickaway County community and businesses.  We recognize and appreciate the generous support all have given this past year and we look forward to this support growing bigger and stronger in the years to come! A big "Thank You" to all who participate.

Following are some of our major fundraising activities:

Concessions. The Athletic Boosters operate the concession stand at Viking Stadium, at the varsity baseball and softball fields and in the high school gymnasiums during sporting events. A Concession Management Team handles scheduling workers, purchasing and stocking the food items and beverages, and preparing the menu items for sale.  Family members and/or friends of the athletes are asked to volunteer to help out at least once during the season in which the athlete participates.  We  make every effort not to ask parents to work during an event in which their student is participating.   Family participation is critical to ensuring the concessions are available during all sporting events.

Annual Fundraising Events. The Athletic Boosters participate in or sponsor several events every year, including a Reverse Raffle and Silent Auction, selling instant tickets at the Sportsman Gala, event parking, as well as other events that may be scheduled over the course of the school year. Ideas for additional fund raising activities are welcome and encouraged.

Type 3 Bingo License.  The Athletic Booster Club has a Type 3 Bingo License through the State of Ohio and can distribute through and sell instant bingo tickets at up to five different establishments located within Pickaway County.  This has been a very successful fundraiser in the past, raising approximately $4,000 each month with just one establishment.  Our Booster Club officers will be happy to talk with the owner of any interested establishment.

Pepsi Vending Machines.  The Athletic Booster Club fully manages the vending machines located by the main gymnasium in the high school and outside Viking Stadium.  We manage the inventory, restock as needed and collect the money dispensed through the machine.  We are also fully eligible for the rebate received from Pepsi for each case of beverage we purchase for sale in the vending machines and through out concession stands.

Scheduled Fundraisers
for 2008

Vending Machines - We will continue to stock the vending machines located by the high school main gym and outside by the stadium concession stand.

Home Athletic Events Concessions - Fall sports are in full swing, winter sports kick off in mid- November and the Athletic Booster Club offers concessions for every home event in the stadium, as well as all home high school games held at the high school gymnasiums.

Sportsman's Extravaganza - The Athletic Booster Club will once again support the Pickaway County Fair Board at its annual Sportsman's Extravaganza held at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 25th.  There are many ways to be involved, including taking tickets at the entrance, selling instant tickets all around the coliseum and much more.  Many shifts are available all day long.  Contact the Booster Club for details.

Schwann's Truckload Sale - In October, the Booster Club will sponsor the first truckload sale, featuring the delicious menu items available from Schwann's.  Advance orders will be taken, as well as offering the opportunity to purchase items on the night of delivery at Teays Valley High School.  Watch for details and an order form.

Annual Holiday Greenery Sale - The Booster Club would like to once again offer the sale of Holiday evergreen items this October for delivery just before Thanksgiving.  We need a chairperson, and/or team to oversee this fundraiser.  Please contact a Booster Club officer ASAP for details.
